Help with Cookware Brands?

My boyfriend is a cook and has dropped hints that he'd like a nice frying pan for Xmas. I know good ones can be really pricey but I'd like to spend under $150. I've been looking at All Clad and Le Creuset. Any help with brands and stainless steel vs nonstick would be great!

All Clad is best (stainless) for overall value. It could last 20 years. So the price is not a factor if you look at longevity. Nonstick will scratch and wear out. Le Creuset is enamel over iron; nice but not practical for everyday use. Stores do put All Clad on sale from time to time. Places like Williams Sonoma and Macy's may have 10" or 12" fry pans for under $100.
